Protected Characteristics

At Alma Park, we actively promote equality and respect for the nine protected characteristics: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.

Through age-appropriate teaching, stories, discussions and real-life examples, children learn that everyone is unique, that differences should be valued, and that discrimination and prejudice are never acceptable.

In this way, we aim to create a school community where every child feels safe, included, valued and respected, and where children are prepared to contribute positively to the diverse society in which they live.
