PTA

Hello and welcome to Alma Park PTA!

Who we are...

PTA stands for Parents and Teachers Association, and all parents and carers at Alma Park are automatically members - so you don’t need to do anything to join.

The main aim of the PTA is to raise money, which can then be spent on new resources, equipment and experiences for the children. In the past, money raised by the PTA has been spent on:

  • New playground equipment
  • Christmas and Eid parties
  • The PA system for the school hall
  • Musical instruments
  • New books and toys
  • School trips

And much more!

Currently our main fundraising events are the summer and autumn fairs, but we are always looking for new ways to raise money for the school, so if you have any ideas please do let us know!

Getting Involved

We would love for you to get involved with the PTA during your child’s time at Alma Park, and the great news is that there are lots of ways you can do that. We have tea/coffee mornings every Friday during term time after morning drop-off. These are held in the community room (the building behind the Nursery playground) as a chance to meet and get to know other Parents and Carers and find out about what’s going on. New faces are always welcome, and there are toys and books to entertain younger siblings.

We also have a formal PTA meeting every half-term where we discuss upcoming fundraising events and how the PTA money is spent. The dates of these are sent out by Parent Mail. Again, anyone is welcome to attend.

We appreciate that everyone’s circumstances are different and not everyone will be able to attend meetings, but there are still lots of other ways you can get involved. For example, helping with the preparations for the summer fair, baking cakes, making posters, selling raffle tickets or face painting. Every little helps - so whether you can help organise events, or just have a spare half-hour here and there, you'll be making a big difference.

SCOOTER AID

Do you have an old or unwanted scooter? Or do you know of someone who would benefit from a revamped old Micro scooter?

The team at Micro Scooters have been refurbishing old and unwanted Micro Scooters for over 10 years. They revamp their scooters and donate them to good causes all across the UK. Every preloved scooter you donate is another child they can help.

If you have a scooter to donate or would like to nominate someone to receive a refurbished scooter, please visit Micro Scooters Scooter Aid.
