Year Group Expected Outcomes

Development Matters sets out the learning progression for Maths in the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage)  and by the end of Reception, children are expected to meet the Early Learning Goals for Maths (Number and Shape/Space and Measure).

Government guidance, in the form of the National Curriculm Programme of Study document, sets out the expected learning for each stage and the end of year outcomes for each year group from Year 1 up to Year 6.

By the end of each key stage (KS1 and KS2), children are expected to know, apply and understand the matters, skills and processes specified in the relevant programme of study.(NB: end of KS1 = Yr2 and end of KS2 = Yr6)
