At Alma Park, all KS1 and KS2 children have access to a fully equipped Music Department. Music provides children with a unique opportunity to express their own feelings and covers the whole range of human experience. Through working practically with the raw materials of music, children develop skills of performing, listening, appraising and developing knowledge and understanding of the subject as an expressible medium. Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity. Pupils are inspired to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, and so increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. As pupils progress, they develop a critical engagement with music, allowing them to compose, and to listen with discrimination to the best in the musical canon.

Music Curriculum

All KS1 and KS2 children have access to a fully equipped Music Department on a half-termly basis. They also learn the rudiments of music through our music scheme Music Express.

We can provide free extracurricular music through a strong Young Voices choir (Sept- Feb) and then Recorder lessons (Feb-July).

We offer paid ukulele, guitar and keyboard lessons, payments are made through our online payment system.
